dubLUDO 23

Standard

There was a brief hour or two where we thought we may not make it to dubLUDO this time to showcase Six Shooter Saloon but on the mobile device.

We were caught behind with polishing and debugging, but the build was presentable, and boy, are we glad we made it to dubLudo because Tuesday night was an inspiration for us. Continue reading

Middlesex University

Standard

Middlesex University, what can we say, it was a pleasure to have been around such a receptive establishment.

We arrived at probably the most hectic and busiest of times for the university. Tensions and nerves could be felt in the air as first years wandered around the spacious campus looking for where their next classes are located, but there was also a warmth from the smiles and laughter of  returning students. DubLudo 18: Follow Up

Aside

Six Shooter Saloon was at dubLUDO last Tuesday!

We had the pleasure of showcasing an alpha build – for the first time – at dubLUDO’s 18th event, in the Odessa bar, amongst other very amazing projects.

Six Shooter Saloon received a great amount of feedback with each playtest and we would like to thank everyone who came over to give us their comments and suggestions on improvements. We really do appreciate it.

We are going to take everything into account as we continue to build and develop for the best gameplay Six Shooter Saloon has to offer.

We’re Going To dubLUDO!

Aside

Six Shooter Saloon will be showcasing at it’s first official public event – dubLUDO.

What is dubLUDO? I hear you ask. Well, they are a group of Dublin-based ‘digital (and physical) creatives who meet regularly to demo their work and have a bit of craic’. It is a regular event about Game Design, Iteration and Feedback.

There are lots of great events here that help grow of efforts but none of them are currently focused on the quality of the games we are making. There are events for getting a job, marketing, networking, technology, funding and about everything else. But where can I go if Level 4 of my game is boring or this promising prototype is just not what I know it could be?

We will be going to show off some fresh new features and would be happy to hear what you all think, good or bad. It would certainly help us improve in the long run.

Playtest And Itch

Standard

Playtesting is always difficult, no matter what stage you are at. It’s not easy to hear harsh words about a project you are working on.

At least, they seem harsh from our perspective.

The benefits of taking a game out as early as possible, to playtest, far out-weight the notion that waiting a little longer would mean an easier acceptance and love for the project you are working on.

This is something we have had to learn quickly too, during our development of Six Shooter Saloon. It was a precious egg we were incubating and it just wasn’t ready, in our opinion. Continue reading
